TRANSPORTATION AND TRAVEL SUPPORT AND ADVICE: 
                                      

To enter into Colombia all you need is a current US Passport .
Several major US airlines (American, Delta, Continental) fly directly into the newly renovated international airport in Bogota .  

Avianca, an excellent Colombian airline is your connection from New York, L.A., Houston, FT. Lauderdale and Miami to Bogota And on to Manizales an additional 35 min.

A representative from MSC will meet you at the airport and take you to your furnished apartment.  

Taxis in Manizales are very inexpensive, safe and reliable.  
Our apartments are in an area of Manizales called Cable Plaza . This is the best part of town and has safe, high quality shopping malls, theaters, restaurants, cafes, bars and discos.  

The weather is like California . Mild during the day and cooler at night. Dress casual. Bring a sweater and a light jacket as the evenings can be cool. Bring nice jeans, dress slacks, golf shirts, and if you want to go to the hot thermal pools, bring a bathing suit. If you forget something, don't worry. Manizales has just about anything you need and at a reasonable price.  

The electriclty is the same as the USA so all your appliances will work without an adapter. The water quality in Manizales is excellent.

ATM's are widely available here and safe to use. You can exchange a few dollars for pesos in the Bogota airport to get you started. Use the atm`s here in Manizales for you daily needs. Do not carry excessive cash with you or flash your wallet. Do not bring expensive jewelry.   This of course is the same advice to travel to most cities in the USA as well.

It is not recommended that you travel outside of Manizales unless you first consult with a representative of MSC. We have interesting and romantic day and night tours to the best scenic areas of Manizales and in the surrounding towns.

Communication Support and Advice:

We have professional translators to accompany you as required and our complete staff is bi-lengual.  

Initial introduction to Manizales - A representative from MSC will provide an orientation tour so that you feel comfortable with your surroundings. 

There are countless cafes, restaurants and bars close to the office and in the Cable Plaza area of town where our apartments are located.  

Inexpensive Internet cafes are abundant for hi-speed internet and international calls.  All of our apartments hive high speed internet, computer, printer and translation programs. 

We have cell phones for rent and will show you how to make local and long distance calls.   We know the best places to go and for the best values.
